New House Campaign

Beta Phi Room Gift Campaign Completion!

The current Room Gift Campaign’s successful completion in January was critical to the success of the Beta Phi New House Campaign. At this stage the undergraduates will vacate their current rental house in the spring of 2013 and there are serious concerns about finding alternative housing for the fall semester. The current Sigma Chi rental house is occupied by 38 members and has been an important recruiting tool during fraternity rush. “During the past three years Sigma Chi has been ranked the #1 Fraternity on campus (Academic, Campus Leadership Activities and Philanthropic Projects) and has been the recipient of the Peterson Award from Sigma Chi National” stated current Consul Hunter Curtis. “It is highly unlikely that Sigma Chi will retain their impressive campus ranking and be successful in attracting new members during rush without a house.

Four Critical Reasons to Make a New Donation

1. Beta Phi Undergraduate Performance: “I feel they have earned the right for our financial support – a #1 Fraternity Ranking and the recipient of the Peterson Award for the past three years. Without our financial support the new house will not be built and Beta Phi will find it difficult to recruit new members during rush.”

2. Beta Phi 1921 History & Lesson Learned: “I want to help preserve what I had the opportunity to experience during my undergraduate days. The New House will be built well.(like a dormitory – not like a single family home) It will have conservative ($500,000 mortgage) financing in order to avoid future financial problems.”

3. Strong Tucson Alumni Chapter: “The alumni chapter and the Sigma Chi Building Company have strong working relationships with the Beta Phi Undergraduates. Asuccessful mentoring program and a joint education program are in place. The current Hall of Honor program emphasizes the importance of leadership training.”

4. Donor Pledge Amount: “Pledge payments can be made over a three year time period as needed. A $5000 donation can involve payments of $140 per month and a $2500 donation can involve payments of $70 per month over a three year period. Both donations involve special recognition opportunities in the New House.”

The following Beta Phi Alumni have committed to make a new donation to the “Room Gift Campaign” and a significant number of them have agreed to assume a leadership role in the decade “Room Gift” funding efforts:
