ATTEND THE TUCSON ALUMNI CHAPTER OF SIGMA CHI LUNCHEON
“2012 Economic Outlook and New Social Media Impact” Presented by Len Jessup, the UA business school’s new dean.
On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the Tucson Alumni Chapter of Sigma Chi will host a special program featuring Len Jessup, the University of Arizona’s business school dean. Dr. Jessup, an alumnus of the UA and the Eller College where he completed his doctoral studies in management and organizational behavior and management information systems, was appointed dean last January and assumed his duties in May. He had been chair of the department of entrepreneurship and information systems and director of the Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Washington State University.
The luncheon session will include several Eller College of Management faculty experts and will focus on the economic outlook for 2012 and the growing impact of social media on the economy. The economic picture for 2012 has been complicated by the European debt crisis while domestic economy has been positively impacted by the consumers’ increasing use of Facebook, Google and Amazon to pursue their retail shopping needs. More than 200 million people use Facebook each month. This will be an interesting program that you will not want to miss!
In addition to our featured speakers, Steve Schuyler and Terry Valeski will update luncheon attendees on the Alumni Chapter’s activities for 2012 and the current status of the undergraduate mentoring program.
Please plan on arriving at the Eller school, at 1130 E. Helen St., between 11:45 and noon to socialize with other Sigma Chi Alumni (all alumni are welcome!) and a box lunch prior to the educational presentation. This will be a terrific opportunity to network and meet other Sigma Chi alumni from chapters throughout the country who reside in Tucson. We have invited a number of the Beta Phi undergraduates who are participating in the Alumni Chapter’s mentoring program to join us.
We look forward to seeing everyone on Jan. 25. The cost for the luncheon/program will be $15, which includes a box lunch, refreshments and participation in the program. You can pay at the door, but recognize that space is limited and the program is expected to be very popular. Please make your reservation ASAP at the form below.
