Matt Chomiak, Beta Phi ’10, was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps as a second lieutenant on Nov. 20 in front of his parents and family and a large group of fellow Beta Phi Sigs. Chomiak, who grew up in Tucson, was administered the oath by fellow Sig and retired USMC Maj. James Donahue. A Magellan Circle Scholar in Near East Studies, he will be staying at the UA helping with recruiting duty until he leaves for advanced training in March 2011.
