Sigma Chi brothers are getting involved in every aspect of campus life, truly living up to the higher ideals that we espouse and are representing Sigma Chi admirably. They are not only involved but step up to become values-based leaders in everything they do in their involvements.
Dane Denby was recently re-elected to president of Arizona Ambassadors for a second term, and Jamie Ensell was elected president of The University of Arizona chapter of the Chimes national junior honorary. Three other brothers, Kevin Cayton, Camron Vizcaino, and Michael Rycyzyn., also were named to Chimes These men hold positions on CHIMES’ executive board as well. Denby and Cayton joined the national Blue Key honorary. In addition, Denby sits on the Student Services Fee Advisory Board, as well as being a justice for the Greek Standards Board.
Sigs also have been selected for numerous prestigious clubs. Daniel Tellez was selected for the Arizona Allegiance Spirit Club, as well as the honoraries Sophos and Smores. Humberto Bours was invited to join the University of Arizona chapter of Gamma Sigma Alpha, which is a national honor society that recognizes members of the Greek community with outstanding academic performance who will be in their junior or senior year.
Robbie King is a member of the business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi. Andrew Cusick is applying for the UA’s School of Architecture, which is an accomplishment for a freshman as usually only sophomores are ready to apply. Jose Miranda and Thomas Browder are officer candidates, and will be going through officer candidate school this summer. This process consists of a 10-week program held in Quantico, Va., where candidates will learn about the history of the Marines, how to lead Marines, and about all the physical aspects that accompany daily Marine life.
Three Sigma Chis were chosen for the Chain Gang junior honorary. They are Dominick San Angelo, Jackson Welch and Jordan Hongo. San Angelo also is an ASUA senator-elect, and Welch was appointed freshman class council director. Michael Colletti and Todd Torabi are awaiting their appointment announcements. Colletti interviewed for the elections commissioner, and Torabi was interviewed for the marketing director.
We applaud these brothers for their involvements and their achievements. Their dedication to the University of Arizona campus is truly uplifting and inspiring.
