September 4, 2005 – Brother Ronald Alan St. John, Beta Phi 1981, died from natural causes in Amman, Jordan while on assignment working with the United Nations. Respected by colleagues far and wide, Ron had spent the last several years working to promote democracy in Eastern Europe, South America, and most recently in Iraq. Please read this article from early last year in remembrance of Ron.”

July 26, 2005 – The Beta Phi Hall of Honor Committee is pleased to announce the election of Major General David M. Jones (Ret) – Beta Phi 1936, Carl E. Weiler – Beta Phi 1954, Charles “Bumps” Tribolet – Beta Phi 1933 and Philip B. McLaughlin – Beta Phi 1943 to the Class of 2005 of the Beta Phi Hall of Honor. They will be inducted during Homecoming 2005 festivities.

August 19, 2004 – Beta Phi Hall of Honor elects Joe Beers, Bill Lynch, Dennis Lyon, John Norton, Frank Sancet, Steven Schuyler and Frank White as inductees into the Beta Phi Hall of Honor. The induction ceremony will take place on Friday, October 29, 2004 during Homecoming 2004 activities.

July 28, 2003 – Beta Phi Hall of Honor elects Robert Mueller, Jon Underwood, Stephen McNamee, Paul Rosenblatt, Jack Redhair, George Gregson and Harold “Porky” Patten as inductees into the Beta Phi Hall of Honor – Class of 2003.

July 17, 2003 – University of Arizona Dean of Students Officials render decision to modify loss of recognition of Beta Phi Chapter to four years.

June 9, 2003 – Executive Committee of Sigma Chi Fraternity votes to suspend the Charter of the Beta Phi Chapter. See attached PDF file of correspondence from Doug Carlson, Grand Consul concerning this matter. Click HERE for letter.

April 16, 2003 – University of Arizona Dean of Students Officials render decision to suspend recognition of Beta Phi Chapter for six years.

February 12, 2003 – University of Arizona Dean of Students Officials place Beta Phi Chapter on suspension pending investigation for hazing.
