Meet Our Graduating Seniors

Kai Kaapro – 12/2008

I am both excited and anxious about graduating in a few short weeks. I am certain I will someday count my experience helping bring Sigma Chi back to the University of Arizona as one of the pivotal times in my life. Being Consul of our colony has been an amazing and challenging task. Before Sigma Chi, I primarily focused on my studies and work, and didn’t branch out much. Sigma Chi has taught me true friendship, taught me how to be leader, and given me confidence. Most importantly, my fraternity has given me brothers I can count on for the rest of my life. These are invaluable gifts I will bring with me for the rest of my life and I am eternally grateful. I consider being a Sigma Chi a lifelong commitment and I look forward to be able to continue to serve in any way I can.

I am graduating, magna cum laude, with a Bachelors degree in Russian and a minor in Business Administration on December 20th. I am currently in the process of applying for joint JD/MBA programs across the country, with an emphasis on international studies. My top choice is Boston University. Given the increasingly complex supply chains and international regulations due to globalization, I intend someday to open a consulting firm specializing in international business. Since I don’t begin graduate studies until Fall, I am currently seeking and applying for internships and jobs where I could gain experience from until September. Any support or advice from alumni would be greatly appreciated.

Paul Hara – 12/2008

Having no intentions of joining a fraternity I joined Sigma Chi with hesitation. I cannot say much more than this has been the best experience of my life. As I move to active status, then alumni status, I would still like to play an active role in the Fraternity. I will be graduating with a degree in Finance in December, and will be looking to go into the consulting field. I would like to thank Steve Schuyler for being a mentor, and all the Beta Phi’s who have been active in getting us back to being a top Sigma Chi house.

Alex Rivera – 12/2008

I am extremely proud to be amongst the Sigma Chi members that brought Beta Phi chapter back to the University of Arizona. I am very thankful to all the alumni and fellow undergraduates that dedicated their time and effort to make this a possibility. I never imagined myself being in a fraternity, throughout the first years of my college career I stayed in my comfort zone and avoided any clubs or organizations, however, a Sig invited me to see what Sigma Chi was all about. I saw the quality of people and witnessed sincere friendships amongst its members and it made me want to be a part of it. I will not only leave the University of Arizona with a degree, but with great memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

I will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Translation and Interpretation and plan to work for the Pima County Court System and eventually become a federally certified court interpreter.
